Joe Olsen "Last Stand"
This is the latest knife from recently named, one of the "Best 10 New Makers" by Blade magazine, Joe Olsen. This knife personifies the reason he was named to this elite list.
This is Joes' tribute to Custer and the men who died at the Battle of the Little Big Horn. The battle is depicted on the two mosaic damascus inserts in each panel of the knife. The frame is rendered in a dusty bronze, representing the haze of the battle scene as thousands of horses stirred up the dust. The three bands of gold color represent the rays of sunlight filtering through the haze of battle, and the blade is colored to reflect the currents of the Little Big Horn Creek.
Joes' knives all poccess a narritive theme, this one is the perfect tribute to the soldiers and braves who lost their lives at Custers Last Stand!
